Heart of Peridot

All the girls of the kingdom envy the younger daughters of our family.
For we are showered with gifts, taken on wonderful journeys, literally have dust blown off us, and since childhood, any whim is fulfilled… And at nineteen, we are... solemnly married off to one of the great Masters.
Only yesterday I accidentally learned that the Masters use their wives as a source of power, restoring expended magic. They feed on their memories, joys, desires, dreams… their souls. They turn wives into lifeless dolls. Into empty shells.
Tomorrow I turn nineteen.
Today I ran away from home to escape the fate that was destined for me.
And let the whole world be against me, I will find a way to keep my freedom and find true love! I will not become my Master's toy. Never.
