Vera achieved everything in life by herself: a successful business, comfort, travel. What else does a person need for happiness? And as for the personal life that didn’t work out — well, maybe that’s for the best; fewer problems. She... did not want to remember her youth in the dusty, miserable town of Ensk, from which she once ran away. And even more so, she did not want to remember that she ran away not only from the city but also from her husband — the handsome Gera Soldat, a local criminal authority. She fled with nothing but the clothes on her back because she could no longer ignore what her beloved husband was doing. But the past doesn’t let one forget. Years later, Vera comes to Ensk on business, and unexpectedly here, in this hated town, fate offers her a chance not only to drastically change her life but also to fill it with meaning.
