Melanie Middleton has problems. She is pregnant, and her relationship with Jack, her beloved, is in crisis. To top it off, she is drained by her work as a realtor, her mystical ability to see ghosts, and her fear of the future – Melanie feels that she is not ready to become a mother and radically change her lifestyle. The last straw is that at night she begins to hear someone's crying, and soon remains are found in the foundation of the house she inherited. This story goes back to the nineteenth century, but its consequences Melanie begins to feel right now.
