Maniac Gurevich

The novel "Maniac Gurevich" rightfully has the subtitle "a life story in pictures" — in it, the author for the first time combines two literary forms: a lengthy novel with a whole garland of "pictures" about Dr. Gurevich from his early childhood to the present day: amusing, absurd, touching, piercing, sad, or hilariously funny. Thanks to this flexible structure, the book "breathes easily." The action rushes forward without lagging behind the heavy rear of high morality, without forcing out "philosophical ideas," without putting characters on stilts, which the so-called "serious premium literature" often suffers from. At the same time, in Dina Rubina's novel, there is both depth of experiences and sharpness of sensations of human existence.
