During spring break, an ordinary high school student Koyomi Araragi encounters a rare "strangeness" — a beautifully seen and horribly wounded vampire, Kissshot Acerolaorion Heartunderblade.

She begs him for salvation, and Koyomi cannot resist.

He allows her to drink his blood completely, not even suspecting that he will become her "descendant", "hands", and "feet" for the vampire.

And that he will be hunted by three vampire capture specialists — The Playwright, The Episode, and The Executioner.
