Modern Swedish Language: Basic Course

This book is the third, revised and expanded edition of the tutorial "Swedish without a Tutor," published in 2004. Its aim is to help the reader master conversational speech and learn to read Swedish periodicals. In intensive language study, the focus... is on the ability to speak, that is, to conduct monologue and dialogue. This is what the first part of the book is dedicated to, where the basics of Swedish grammar and a minimum vocabulary are provided. This knowledge will enable readers to engage in conversations on everyday topics. 
The second part discusses more complex grammatical constructions found in newspaper and magazine publications. 
Unaided, topical texts are primarily taken from Swedish publications of recent years and are read with interest.
