Markov Salt of the Earth

From 1954 to 1960, Georgy Mokeevich Markov wrote a continuation of the story of the peasant family of Siberians, the Strogov family - the novel "Salt of the Earth", in which he closely traced the fate of the children and... grandchildren of Matvey, who had already changed their social status, becoming scientists, civil servants, and party workers - not so much "sowers" as transformers of post-war Siberia. In keeping with the spirit of the time, the novel features the image of a young rebel with the character of a "sixtier" - graduate student Alexey Krayukhin.
The novel was successfully adapted into a film and rightly earned the audience's sympathy.
