Aerial View. Timelapse: How Humans Change the Earth

«Aerial View» is a unique project that introduces readers to the overview effect, allowing them to see the Earth from above and experience the feelings of astronauts observing the planet from a space station.

This publication continues the conversation about the beauty and fragility of Earth, begun in B. Grant's first book - «Aerial View: Stunning Images of Earth from Satellites». The images obtained through satellites and aerial photography show how our planet changes under the influence of nature's forces and large-scale human activities, and these changes are not always for the better. The authors raise questions about the inevitable increase of ecological problems: global warming, deforestation, the consequences of overconsumption, soil, air, and water pollution.

Many photographs are taken using the «timelapse» method - representing sequences of images taken at specific intervals. This allows one to clearly see the speed of changes occurring in different parts of the world and understand that our planet needs care and protection. Only by realizing the measure of personal responsibility of each, can we preserve the natural resources and unique landscapes of our common human home.
