View from Above. Timelapse: How Humans Change the Earth

«View from Above» is a unique project that introduces readers to the perspective effect, inviting them to look at the Earth from above and experience the feelings of astronauts observing the planet from the space station.
 
This publication continues the discussion... about the beauty and fragility of the Earth, started in B. Grant's first book - «View from Above: Stunning Images of Earth from Satellites». The images obtained through satellites and aerial photography show how our planet is changing under the influence of natural forces and large-scale human activities, and not always for the better. The authors raise the issues of the inevitable escalation of environmental problems: global warming, deforestation, the consequences of overconsumption, and pollution of soil, air, and water.
 
Many photographs are taken using the «timelapse» method - representing a series of consecutive images taken at specific intervals. This allows one to clearly see the speed of changes occurring in different corners of the world and to realize that our planet needs care and protection. Only by understanding the measure of personal responsibility of each individual can we preserve the natural riches and unique landscape of our common human home.
