The new book by Igor Maltsev tells about this unique traditional Scottish drink, which has become a national symbol of the country, a symbol of man's struggle with the northern nature and his victory. The first distilleries appeared in Scotland... in the 16th century, although whiskey was made here even earlier. By the beginning of the 20th century, about 200 distilleries were operating in Scotland, but not all of them have survived to this day. The author, a well-known journalist and producer, writer and musician, tells about each of them, introduces the products, and provides characteristics of the produced varieties.
