The action of the novel begins in 1958. The main character of the book, returning from vacation, indulges in pleasant memories of his holiday. Suddenly, his car loses control, an accident occurs, the young man dies, but unexpectedly wakes up one and a half centuries later. Employees of the "Rex Corporation" have transferred his consciousness into the body of another person. The hero must learn to live in a new reality and answer the questions of who he is now, why he was brought back to this world, and the purpose of such an inhumane experiment.
