World of Comics. Issue 6: Slides, Horror Comics, and Military Themes

The book collects articles from comic researchers from Russia and abroad. It presents six sections, where the study of comics is distributed according to geographical or thematic affiliation. The first three sections are devoted to comics and animation from countries... such as Russia, the USA, and the Asian region — China, Korea, and Japan. The following three sections analyze comics from different countries, united by the following thematic blocks: «Horror in Comics», «War and Comics» and «Expressive Opportunities of Comics».
The collection is primarily based on the materials of the VI International Conference «World of Comics», held on March 19–20, 2021 at the IKVIA HSE in an online format.
The book is intended for a wide audience — academics and specialists from various disciplines interested in the study of comics from a professional perspective, as well as all fans of Russian, American, and Asian comics.
