Contemporary Chinese writer Mai Jia (1964) is the author of such famous works as "Decoded" and "The Conspiracy". The novel "Noise of the Wind" (2007), presented in the book, tells about events in Hangzhou during the Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945). The... tense narrative, the intrigue with elements of classic detective fiction, and vibrant characters are all reasons for the popularity of the novel, which won the prestigious Ba Jin Literary Prize in 2009 among other awards. In the same year, the novel was adapted into a film and presented at international film festivals.
