Modern Chinese writer Mai Jia (1964) is the author of such famous works as "Decoding" and "Conspiracy". The novel "Noise of the Wind" (2007) presented in the book tells about events in Hangzhou during the Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945). The tense... narrative, intrigue with elements of a classic detective story, vibrant characters—these are all reasons for the popularity of the novel, which received, among other awards, the prestigious Ba Jin Literary Prize in 2009. In the same year, the novel was adapted into a film and presented at international film festivals.
