Learning to Write Chinese Characters. Practice with Exercises. Part 2

This manual will help you acquire the skills of writing Chinese characters in the shortest time possible. The exercises collected in it are as simple as possible and are suitable for all beginners studying Chinese writing, regardless of age.

The first... part of the practice book introduces in detail the main strokes of the character and contains 100 radicals.

The second part of the manual presents 114 radical characters for mastery out of 214 essentials. In each of the 9 lessons, a group consisting of 10 radicals is studied, while the last lesson contains a group of 14 radicals. The radicals in the manual are arranged in order of increasing stroke count according to the dictionary list of «Kangxi». Each radical is accompanied by five character examples where this radical appears. Exercises for review are provided after studying the group of 10 radicals.

In the new edition of the practice book, the second part includes a section with additional character elements, which are not part of the classic list of radicals but are components in a large number of modern characters.

At the end of the book, there are cards with numbered radicals. On the back of the card, it is useful to write the meaning of the radical and examples of its usage, as well as associations related to this radical. The cards aid in memorizing the radicals and are convenient for use in any situation.

The manual can be used for group work with a teacher or for self-study.
