The name of Mikhail Kuzmin - poet, translator, critic, composer - is inseparably linked to the culture of the Silver Age. Alexander Blok called him a "artist to the marrow of his bones," a "delicate lyricist," and an "acute dialectician... in art." Kuzmin's creative manner is equally close to symbolism, acmeism, and futurism; however, the poet never classified himself with any poetic school. This edition includes poems from various years. Among them is the debut cycle "Alexandrian Songs," which became Kuzmin's calling card for many years, and the last book "Trout Breaks the Ice," considered not only the pinnacle of his creativity but also an outstanding example of poetry of the 1920s, "breaking the ice" of Soviet censorship and, according to Anna Akhmatova, perceived by contemporaries as a "deafening news."
