The House in Which...

On the outskirts of the city, among standard new buildings, stands the Gray House, where the Sphinx, the Blind Man, the Lord, Tabaki, Macedonian, the Black Man, and many others live. It is unknown whether the Lord actually comes from... a noble line of dragons, but the Blind Man is indeed blind, and the Sphinx is wise. Tabaki is certainly not a jackal, although he loves to profit from others' belongings. Each person in the House has their own nickname, and one day in it often contains more than we, in the Outside World, can live through in a whole lifetime. The House either accepts or rejects each person. The House holds countless secrets, and the banal "skeletons in the closet" are only the most understandable corner of that invisible world, where access from the Outside World is denied, where the usual laws of space-time cease to function.
The House is something far greater than an orphanage for children abandoned by their parents. The House is their separate universe.
