Responding to the invitation to move to the Far North, the hero... of the autobiographical novella-triptych "Strategist by Necessity" Valentin Enykin had no idea where his choice would lead him. But even after twenty years, he cannot come to terms with the situation; his soul is torn between two shores - the shore of the Mari Volga, where his parents sleep in eternal slumber, and the shore of the Yamal Obi, where life continues according to his invented program "SOI from Zoi!"
