The name of Plato needs no special introduction. Throughout European history, the "Dialogues" engage the reader in an endless conversation. The questioning speech of the thinker is addressed to anyone who is open to discussion and not afraid of unexpected... conclusions. Again and again, Plato, under the guise of his teacher Socrates, stops passersby, distracting them from their everyday concerns to ask seemingly naive questions: what is justice? what is good? what is love? This edition includes dialogues from the early, transitional, and mature periods of Plato's work, including such important texts as "Apology of Socrates," "Symposium," "Phaedo," "Phaedrus," as well as an introductory article by Vladimir Solovyov, one of the most significant Russian philosophers of the 19th century.
