Since Natsume inherited the Book of Friends from his grandmother Reiko, which grants power over spirits, he returns the names written in it to their rightful owners day by day.

One day, Natsume and Tanuma help their friend Taki clean the pantry and accidentally release an evil spirit sealed by her grandfather.
