Symbolism as Understanding of the World

Andrei Bely - thinker and poet, one of the most unusual and original writers of the Silver Age, "master and magician", creator of new artistic forms and prophet of a new era. In addition, an original researcher who laid the foundations of modern poetry studies and a theorist of symbolism, the main poetic direction of the era known as the "cultural renaissance" of the early 20th century. This era, which opened the world to many bright talents, was marked by an extraordinary rise in poetry and philosophy, as well as a special romantic sense of the world and a striving for "other worlds", beyond the visible, but at the same time it was permeated with a feeling of impending historical catastrophes.

This collection presents the most famous and significant philosophical-aesthetic and literary-critical works of Andrei Bely, gathered by the author in three books ("Symbolism", "Arabesques", "Green Meadow"), which reflect the ideological explorations of one of the most astonishing eras in the history of Russian culture.
