Neon Genesis Evangelion: Volume 3

Shinji's relationships with those around him are gradually improving - but not with his father. However, on the anniversary of his mother's death, Shinji meets him at her grave, and they manage to talk, though the conversation is not easy... While the commander is on an Antarctic expedition, the Evas face an Angel together for the first time, and Kaworu reveals some of NERV's secrets to Shinji. Meanwhile, an Eva-02 is being transported from America to Japan, and a suitable candidate for the pilot is Toji Suzuhara. Shinji assures his friend that there is nothing to fear, but the activation tests do not go as planned...
