Young promising scientist Don Tillman has become disillusioned with the traditional method of searching for his "better half" - dating - believing that the likelihood of success does not correspond at all to the effort expended. Don decides to apply... a scientific approach and develops a thirty-page questionnaire - a specialized, effective tool that includes trick questions, questions with double meanings, cross-checks... It will help weed out all the careless, untimely, smoking, fashion victims, fortune-tellers and horoscope fans, sports fans, religious fanatics... and ultimately identify one suitable candidate. Thus begins the "Wife" project. In the process of working on it, Don will discover that love cannot be calculated or found - even with the help of science. Love finds you itself. And the "Wife" project turns into the "Rosie" Project.
