The... main character of the trilogy is Frank Cowperwood. The commercial environment that surrounded Frank from childhood shapes his psychology as an entrepreneur. Starting with minor speculations and gradually becoming involved in bold and risky operations, in the midst of fierce competition Cowperwood acquires wealth. Assertiveness, energy, and talent make the hero a financial genius. Realizing the power of the capital and professional experience he has accumulated, Frank Cowperwood proclaims his life motto, which gave the title to the entire trilogy: "My desires first of all".
The unadapted text is presented with some abbreviations and is supplemented with page-by-page comments and a dictionary. The dictionary pays special attention to financial and economic terms.
