Charles Dickens — a world-renowned English writer, creator of many vivid images. The novel «Great Expectations» continues the theme of a young man's development. Dickens tells the story of Pip, an orphan boy from a poor family, who gets the chance to become a «real gentleman», a story about how an accidental meeting can change an entire life. Dickens often proclaimed the desire to rise into «decent» society as a curse of the country, making people slaves to a soulless system.
