Oscar Wilde (1854–1900) — British playwright, writer, and poet. He wore a top hat from the age of 12 and knew how to charm any conversation partner. His contemporaries recalled that his conversations were as full of witty aphorisms as... his plays. And the transcripts of these conversations would not yield to the dramatic works or fairy tales of Oscar Wilde. He himself said that for him writing plays was no greater effort than talking. Wilde spent two weeks on each of his most famous comedies.
