“Peaches for Monsieur Cure” is the third part of the “Chocolate Tetralogy” by Joanne Harris. It is the story of vivid characters, old and new friends of Vianne Rocher: handsome men, mysterious women, sweet little children, and colorful eccentric old folks. It is magic — homemade and delicious, like peach jam. Vianne passionately helps people faced with injustice, alienation, and outright cruelty. That’s her character. The intensity of emotions in the finale is incredible. The entire cycle of the “Chocolate Tetralogy” consists of novels that should be read in the following order: “Chocolate,” “Candy Shoes,” “Peaches for Monsieur Cure,” and “Strawberry Thief.” A wonderful remedy for the blues!
