A lot has been said about Baba Yaga, and not all of it is the same. Usually, it is considered unnecessary to refer to traditional folklore - an infinitely vast layer of rich information about folk beliefs. Yaga is one of the aspects of the Slavic Goddess of death Marena, but undoubtedly the most famous and vivid one. This work examines the name of Yaga and her role in the original customs of the Slavs in detail. It also discusses other incarnations of Marena, known somewhat less and therefore less understandable to us.
