Diaries. The Nihilist

Sophia Vasilyevna Kovalevskaya 1850—1891 — the first woman mathematician in Russia and the first woman professor, mechanic, and astronomer in the world, a writer and literary critic. On the pages of her autobiographical «Memories of Childhood», one can find an interesting family chronicle and immerse oneself in the system of raising children in the mid-19th century, which did not always take into account the interests of the gifted and vibrant nature of Kovalevskaya. The story «The Nihilist» tells about the tragic fates of revolutionary narodniks, self-sacrifice, and the pursuit of moral heroism.
