The Black Hen, or The Underground Dwellers = Чёрная курица, или Подземные жители

The educational manual is an adaptation of the famous fairy tale by the Russian writer Antoniy Pogorelskiy "The Black Hen, or The Underground Dwellers." This captivating story is about a ten-year-old boy who enters an underground kingdom, receives a wonderful gift, and then loses a friend due to his cowardice. The fairy tale teaches children honesty, loyalty, and kindness.

After each chapter, exercises are provided to expand vocabulary, practice grammatical constructions, and develop speaking skills. New words are included in the glossary, which is located at the end of the book.


The manual is intended for students in grades 3-4 of schools, gymnasiums, and lyceums.
