LONG-AWAITED PUBLICATION! The novel by Seishu Hase "The Boy and the Dog," which has sold over 300,000 copies in Japan, received the prestigious Sanjugo Naoki Literature Prize in 2020. Within a year, nine countries immediately acquired the rights to publish this story. Seishu Hase is primarily known for his novels about the yakuza, which have been the basis for several successful films in Southeast Asia. "The Boy and the Dog" deviates slightly from the author's favored theme, touching on life stories that resonate with each of us: extinguished love, terminal illness of loved ones, societal rejection, poverty. However, this story also embodies a resilient hope for the better and kindness that is inherent in humanity, regardless of upbringing, education, social status, or mental state.
