Conversations and Judgments

"Conversations and Judgments" ("Lunyu") - the main book of Confucianism and all of Chinese culture. For many centuries, this treatise was considered mandatory for memorization in the classical education of the Celestial Empire.

The Russian translation of "Lunyu" was made in 1910 by Pavel Stepanovich Popov, the leading Russian sinologist of his time, translator of many works of ancient Chinese philosophers and compiler of the Russian-Chinese dictionary, who served in the diplomatic mission in Beijing. His translation is distinguished by accuracy, expressiveness, and closeness to the original.
