Pedagogical Poem

In the poem-novel by Anton Semyonovich Makarenko (1888—1939), a teacher and writer, the story of the birth and development of the M. Gorky colony and the team of Gorky workers is revealed. The first pupils were underage offenders: teenagers, young... men, and later homeless children. The moral transformation in their upbringing did not happen immediately, but in the process of a long, difficult, and selfless struggle by the educators led by the author for a highly cultured personality, infinitely bright, with a developed sense of duty and honor. Published between 1934 and 1937, the "Pedagogical Poem" has been reissued multiple times and has been translated into many languages.
