Yosuke Takahashi's manga has a pronounced moralistic character, reminiscent of classic fables. The passionate desire for something that engulfs Takahashi's heroes grows into obsession and then becomes sin. And for sins, as is known, one must pay. In addition to established notions of ghosts, werewolves, and other mythical creatures, the author ridicules some modern aspirations, such as the desire to be more beautiful than one was created by God, or the widespread struggle against obesity, reducing seemingly noble intentions to what they truly represent—vanity as a form of moral deformity.
