The text for this album was written by Andrey Burlaka — a well-known music journalist, producer, historian of Soviet and Russian rock music, and the editor-in-chief of the Rock-n-roll.ru websites. He has released over fifty records and compact discs of... Russian and foreign musicians of various genres and directions as an editor or independent producer. From 1994 to 1998, he worked at the DDT Theater. He is the author or co-author of the books In the Rhythm of the Era, Rock Music in the USSR, Who's Who in Soviet Rock, Rock Blitz, and hundreds of articles on musical culture, published both in Russia and in other countries, as well as the three-volume Rock Encyclopedia. Popular Music in Leningrad-Petersburg.1965–2005. Valentin Baranovsky is a famous St. Petersburg photographer, the official photographer of the Mariinsky Theater since the early 70s, and worked for 10 years as a staff photographer for APN. A completely unique story in his creative biography is the semi-underground filming of concerts of the Leningrad Rock Club in the early 80s. The first performances of Boris Grebenshchikov and the band Aquarium, Konstantin Kinchev and the band Alisa, Viktor Tsoi and the band Kino, Mike Naumenko and the band Zoopark, Alexander Bashlachev, Vyacheslav Butusov and the band Nautilus Pompilius, Sergey Kuryokhin and the band Pop Mechanics, Fyodor Chistyakov and the band Zero, Leonid Fedorov and the band Auktyon, and many others. This book is not a chronicle and certainly not a summary, but objective frames with subjective comments, a slightly nostalgic story — in faces, facts, and comments on them — about what happened to us and around us not so long ago, just less than half a century ago, but it has already become history. Such a hefty piece of life. Andrey Burlaka
