Lucius Annaeus Seneca is a prominent Roman Stoic philosopher, tutor of Nero, poet, and statesman. Seneca emphasized that one "virtue is enough for happiness," and therefore the sage must be emotionally resilient to misfortunes. His "Letters to Lucilius" demonstrate Seneca's aspiration for ethical perfection and "represent a kind of philosophical testament for future generations."
