13 journeys through time and space

The collection of lectures from the Royal Institution of Great Britain is an opportunity to trace how discoveries in astronomy and physics have changed humanity's perception of the cosmos. If at the time of the first lecture a flight to the Moon seemed like a distant dream, by the early 21st century people were already exploring the possibilities of colonizing Mars. Just less than a century ago, it was established that our Universe is expanding. And just a few decades later, scientists attempted to recreate the first moments after the Big Bang using particle accelerators. In just the past century, the scientific understanding of what time is has completely changed, and today the hopes of peering through time no longer seem utopian.
