Around the World in 80 Days

The book is an adaptation of the captivating novel by Jules Verne "Around the World in 80 Days". The hero of the novel, Phileas Fogg, wagers that he can circumnavigate the globe from west to east in no more than... 80 days. Fogg's journey begins in England, then he travels to France, Egypt, India, China, Japan, and America. Along the way, he encounters numerous dangers, and Fogg repeatedly demonstrates courage and resourcefulness: he uses trains, steamships, and even an elephant as means of transportation, faces attacks from Indians, and saves a beautiful Indian princess from death.
This guide will help high school students prepare for the state final examination in English.
The text of the guide is adapted for educational purposes to the Elementary level. Each chapter is accompanied by comments, translations of difficult words and phrases, as well as exercises aimed at developing students' communicative competence. The exercises will help develop communicative skills in reading, writing, and speaking, as well as enhance lexical and grammatical skills.
At the end of the guide, there is a glossary and a test in the OGE format with answer keys.
