Brave hamster Khoma and his best friend Suslik lived next door for many years, and then, not noticing how, they became popular characters in books, theater productions, and animated films. This was made possible by the wonderful writer Albert Ivanov. Albert Ivanov, a graduate of the screenplay faculty of VGIK, worked as an editor at the Mosfilm studio for several years. He has been a member of the Writers' Union since 1966. He was awarded the Pushkin Medal "For Zeal in Enlightenment." Since 1975, Albert Ivanov has written more than twenty books about the fairy-tale adventures of brave hamster Khoma and his best friend Suslik (over 300 tales in total). Famous animated films have been based on his fairy tales, including "The Adventures of Khoma," "One - Pea, Two - Pea," "The Cage," as well as the series "The Amazing Adventures of Khoma," consisting of 13 animated short films. Albert Ivanov's books have been published in a total circulation of 15 million copies and translated into 11 languages. St. Petersburg illustrator Svetlana Emelyanova draws bright, cheerful, and humorous illustrations for children. Her cute and touching characters from the books of I. Chapek "The Adventures of the Dog and the Cat," D. King-Smith "Babe the Pig," V. Livanov "Father Frost and Summer," M. Yasnov "It Smells Like a Mitten Horse," and many others have deservedly been loved not only by children but also by adults. More than 40 children's books have already been published with illustrations by Svetlana Emelyanova.
