The collection "Moon Over the Mountain" includes nine stories in which Chinese tales, legends, and parables intertwine with Japanese wisdom and the author's light irony. Among the heroes of his stories are mythical creatures, great warriors, and esteemed masters, who... find themselves in extremely unusual circumstances. A hunter encounters a tiger that speaks to him in the voice of his missing friend, a high-ranking official makes a man-bull his assistant, and a demon, tormented by doubts and guilt, seeks the meaning of life. In Japan, Nakajima's works are studied in schools, but outside his home country, he is almost unknown. This is the first time the stories are published in Russian.
