Money has long been a subject of disputes and reflections, becoming the cause of wars and conflicts, and yet people have always strived for prosperity and the accumulation of material goods. Being a part of everyday life, money has made... it onto the list of "eternal" topics for philosophers. Thinkers of Antiquity, such as Plato and Aristotle, pondered the question of what "true" wealth is. During the Enlightenment, philosophers Adam Smith and David Ricardo considered the concept of money in a comprehensive way, linking it to labor and its results. Sociologist Karl Marx demonstrated in his works how money transforms into capital, gaining its own will and power over the working class. His follower, Marxist Walter Benjamin, reflected on the impact of money on culture and proposed ways to humanize the economy. Modern thinkers Jacques Derrida, Slavoj Žižek, and Amartya Sen spoke about the paradoxical nature of money.
