in this book were recorded in the 19th - early 20th century from the words of folk storytellers by folklorists and ethnographers, as well as school teachers and representatives of the national intelligentsia, and later translated, adapted for children's reading, and artistically designed by remarkable translators and linguists P. A. Polyakov, V. N. Kharuzina, E. Z. Baranov, V. A. Gatsuk, S. D. Kozyubinsky, V. Kh. Kondaraki, and others.
