Polly forgot, she forgot everything… Five long and amazing years of friendship with Tom, their correspondence, the stories they created together that somehow turned out to be true, dizzying adventures, meetings and partings, joys and grievances, threats from his relatives who forbade them to communicate… and how she herself agreed to forget him.

But the strangest thing is — everyone around them forgot about it too. As if someone erased everything that was in Polly's life and replaced her memories with a dull fake. Even the book that Tom gave her mysteriously transformed: some stories disappeared, others were rewritten. And only the picture with the blazing flowers of poison hemlock helped her remember the past and understand who and why deprived her of her memory.

It all started one Halloween when Polly, breaking her grandmother's strict prohibition, sneaked into the old mansion next door.
