Two years after Azrael dealt with the most dangerous villains of Gotham, a new wave of crime sweeps the city. In the shadows, a professional intriguer known as The Producer is at work. Once a brilliant up-and-coming actress, she now brilliantly murders movie stars of Hollywood's golden age. What drove her to a series of crimes? And how is all this connected to the Joker?

The Gotham police and FBI agent Hector Quimby are forced to seek help from Harley Quinn, as understanding the psychology of killers is her specialty. However, Harley is currently going through tough times: she is now a single mother and doesn't want to put her family in serious danger. But as always, Batman intervenes – and the former psychiatrist is forced to accept this challenge.
