The Firebird and Other Wonderful Tales

"The English Club" presents a collection of folk and original tales from various countries in English. Simple and understandable, adapted for Beginner (A1) level, the texts are aimed at schoolchildren in grades 3-4 and anyone who is starting to learn... English and wants to expand their language practice. The book contains five tales: "The Firebird", "Vasilisa the Beautiful", "The Fire Tongs", "The Tale of Johnny the Town Mouse", "Mother Goose and her son Jack", and "The Gingerbread Man".

Each tale is accompanied by exercises of two levels of difficulty with keys to reinforce the material and translations of words and phrases that pose difficulties in reading. The manual is developed in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standards (FSES) and will be a good assistant in preparing for the final exam in English. At the end of the book, readers will find a test and answers to it in the format of the final exam for grade 4. The test contains tasks on reading, listening, vocabulary, grammar, and speaking. At the end of the collection, there is a brief dictionary.

The book will help elementary school students and anyone who wants to learn new grammatical rules, enrich their vocabulary, and work on communicative skills in oral speech, reading, translation, and retelling. With regular lessons, elementary school students will be able to more effectively master the educational program, write control, independent, and final work. The book will also be useful for teachers in the framework of extracurricular English reading lessons.

Included with the book is a CD with audio recordings of the stories and listening tasks, narrated by a native English speaker.
