The Diary of Anne Frank is one of the most famous documentary artifacts of World War II and at the same time a poignant and sincere story of a teenage girl.
Anne received a notebook as a gift from her father...
for her 13th birthday and kept a diary for three years while hiding with her family (German Jews) from the Nazis. In the diary, she recounts what is happening around her — the domestic troubles, her feelings, her family and friends — all against the backdrop of the catastrophe of war.
The graphic novel was created by Ari Folman and David Polonsky — the screenwriter and artist of the Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe-winning animated film "Waltz with Bashir." By 2019, Ari and David are preparing an animated film based on the "Diary." The adaptation has been approved by the Anne Frank Foundation, which oversees publications worldwide.
