Jonathan Safran Foer is the author of "Everything Is Illuminated," a recipient of numerous literary awards, including the Guardian First Book Prize for Best Debut Book, the National Jewish Book Award for Best Book on a Jewish Theme, and the... Foer's novel "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" is a touching, profound, heartfelt, and poignant story told by a 9-year-old boy whose father died in one of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. The world premiere of the film based on the book, starring Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks, took place in January 2012.
