Karen Shakhnazarov. His Own Secret

THIS IS THE FIRST BOOK ABOUT THE FAMOUS DIRECTOR KAREN SHAKHNAZAROV! It tells about the creation of films, intertwined with the director's political views, personal life collisions, anecdotes on set, and actor and director stories. This book has everything that can make it a bestseller. A son’s story about his father – a consultant to Brezhnev and Gorbachev. The conspiracy of the film "City Zero": what is it – a coded warning about a geopolitical catastrophe? A mystical prediction of the collapse of the USSR? The path to fame – from the noisy success of "We Are from Jazz" to "The Courier", which De Niro demanded should receive the Grand Prize at the Moscow International Film Festival. "Tsareubiytsa" – the border of two eras. "Dreams" – a fearless satire on Yeltsin's government. A personal drama – how the impulse to shoot "American Daughter" emerged. The difficult revival of the film concern "Mosfilm". And the military-science fiction blockbuster "White Tiger", which became a record holder for views on the net! The book is filled with fragments of the author's conversations with Karen Shakhnazarov
