The True Story of Russian Rock

"The True Story of Russian Rock" – a new book-album by Joanna Stingray, an American singer, actress, music producer, and public figure. Thousands of photographs, hundreds of hours of footage: concerts, rehearsals, interviews with musicians and artists, producers, journalists, and photographers who defined this era – the "golden" period of Russian Rock and the art underground. "Akvarium", "KINO", "Strange Games", "Alice", "Pop Mechanics", "Auction", "Object of Ridicule", "New Composers", the group "New Artists" (Timur Novikov, Oleg Kotelnikov, Sergey Bugayev "Africa", Andrey Krisanov, Yevgeny "Yufa" Yufit) and many others. Each new chapter reflects Joanna Stingray's next visit to Russia. The reader becomes acquainted with the history of Russian rock in the order that Joanna experienced it. The album includes only a portion of the invaluable materials related to her stay in Russia in the late 1980s. All materials in the book are published for the first time.
