The Shoemaker's Wife

For the first time, Enza and Chiro met as children under very sad circumstances, against the backdrop of the majestic Italian Alps. Chiro is a half-orphan living at a women's monastery, while Enza is the eldest daughter in a large and very poor family. They do not lament their fate and are ready for hard work and difficulties; the main thing is not to part from their loved ones and from the beautiful mountains that can heal any wounds. But fate will arrange things differently - both are forced to leave their homeland and loved ones as children, to journey across the ocean to the unfathomable and frightening America. Thus begins the story of their lives, full of completely unexpected turns, temptations, hardships, happy moments, friendship, and great love. They will have to meet and part several more times before they understand that fate is not arranging their meetings for nothing, and if there is something in life that can cope with the longing for their native Italy, it is love. But first, they will have to toil hard, endure poverty and humiliation, cope with the horrors of war, withstand the temptation of a luxurious life, appreciate the beauty of art, and recognize the value of true friendship.
"The Wife of the Shoemaker" is an epic love story that traverses two continents and two world wars, through the splendor and poverty of New York and the tranquil beauty of Italy, through long separations and brief encounters. This novel can only be compared to eternal classics - "Gone with the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell, as it is just as rich in plot twists, strong emotions, and vivid characters.
