This time, Lucky Luke is assigned to escort the Wells Fargo diligence, transporting passengers and a valuable load of gold across half of America, from Denver to San Francisco. The heroes are faced with another dangerous journey in the typical mode of transport of those times – the diligence, which has become in some way a symbol of the era of Wild West development. “Diligence” is not only a western but also a detective, as Lucky Luke has to identify a traitor among the passengers who, along with accomplices, plans to rob the diligence and seize the chest of gold. Comics about Lucky Luke are aimed at the broadest audience.
