Travelers of the 19th Century

The famous work "History of Great Voyages," consisting of three books: "The Discovery of the Earth," "Navigators of the 18th Century," and "Travelers of the 19th Century," was written by the renowned French writer Jules Verne (1828-1905) over a span of sixteen years. It vividly and engagingly describes the most significant journeys and discoveries that changed people's perceptions of the world's geography, erased blank spots on maps, promised riches, and became causes of wars. The author covered the period from ancient times to the 1840s of the 19th century.
The book "Travelers of the 19th Century" is dedicated to the history of geographical discoveries made in the 19th century. It includes descriptions of the journeys of Krusenstern, Kotzebue, Litke, Franklin, Bellingshausen, and other outstanding explorers.
The edition is accompanied by 100 illustrations by famous French artists, facsimiles of ancient maps and engravings. Among them, for the first time in Russia, a complete set of 59 illustrations by L. Bené is published.
